UNFPA and AHDO Partnership
On May 20, 2020, AHDO and UNFPA (United Nations Funds for Population Activities) concluded a partnership with the goal to better family planning in AHDO zones of intervention. UNFPA is the lead UN agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, while making sure that every childbirth is safe and every young person's potential is fulfilled. Bad family planning can lead to many children to feed and if there is no proper nutrition, this can be a direct cause of malnutrition. UNFPA was represented by Dr. Achu Lordfred, the Chief Technical Adviser, Reproductive, Maternal and Newborn Health in UNFPA in DRC. More details about this partnership will be featured soon as further discussions on the partnership agreement are being considered to be finalized in the upcoming meetings.
