DRC Government and AHDO Agreement
HEADQUARTERS AGREEMENT BETWEEN AHDO AND DRC GOVERNMENT SUMMARY
DRC has the highest rate of malnutrition in the world with 6 million children suffering from chronical malnutrition, more than 2 million children under 5 with acute malnutrition and a 45% cause of death as for children under 5.
It is in this context that the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) government signed an agreement with AHDO to establish the NGO headquarters on DRC soil for Africa. According to this agreement, the government grants the following rights to AHDO:
- Hire and train both international and national AHDO staff
- To be exonerated from any taxes for any materials imported for the project
- Facilitation of paper work for international staff and guests
- To have the same rights, privileges and immunities as any other International Organization active and recognized by the DRC.
In exchange, AHDO will support the government in elaboration, execution and follow up of national plans to fight malnutrition while providing technical and financial means to support those plans.
